HI-CAP

Welcome To The Lewis & Clark HI-CAP Page
  • What is HI-CAP?

The Highly Capable (Hi-cap) Program curriculum is supported by the district adopted curriculum, teacher instruction and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Hi-cap is for students that meet or exceed the 90th percentile ranking on multiple assessments for both math and reading in the Richland School District. The magnet program (referred to as QUEST) is offered grades three through five located at Lewis & Clark Elementary in which QUEST students are offered positions based upon rank-order standing in the district. Additionally, each school offers accommodations and services for highly-capable students that are selected from a menu of options. Highly-Capable students will receive instruction requiring more complex skills with a deeper and broader understanding of content.
